Wer mag der Herr wohl von diesem Häuschen sein?		Who might own this nice house?

Hu, hu, da schaut eine alte Hexe raus!		Oh, oh, look out for the old witch!
Sie lockt die Kinder ins Pfefferkuchenhaus.		She lures the children into the gingerbread house.
Sie stellte sich gar freundlich, o Hänsel, welche Not!		She seems so friendly, oh Hansel, watch out!
Ihn wollt sie braten im Ofen braun wie Brot.		She wants to cook them in the oven like bread.

Doch als die Hexe zum Ofen schaut hinein,		But when the witch looks into the oven,
Ward sie gestoßen von Hans und Gretelein.		She was joined by Hans and little Gretel.
Die Hexe muss verbrennen, die Kinder gehn nach Haus.		The witch must burn, the children go home.
Nun ist das Märchen von Hans und Grete aus.		Now the tale of Hansel and Gretel is done.
